Sawdust Ministry

Sawdust Ministry is an outreach ministry to our community.  We go out in the community to make a tangible difference to people in need.  Most of what we do is build wheelchair ramps, steps, or porch landings for people who are in need of such things and cannot afford to pay for materials and/or contractors.  Those we help are often senior citizens, but not always.  Our criteria to help is that there is a need; that is all.  They do not need to have any affiliation with St. Luke or any other church.

Those who work with Sawdust Ministry are people who want to help.  Most are members of St. Luke, but not all.  We welcome ANY who want to take part.  Men, women, youth.  All are welcome.  We have a standing invitation for anyone who wishes to come out and get dirty with us.  That means that you are invited, as are your friends and family.  You can come out for one night, or on a regular basis.

We usually meet Tuesday or Wednesday evenings from 6:00-8:00 pm, but the times and days vary according to situation.

If you want to take part in Sawdust Ministry, contact Mike McCay, Bill Hargraves, or Dave Steffenauer.  Any of us can put you in touch with this ministry.

If you do not have time or physical ability to help, you can donate financially toward these projects by writing a check to the church and eartag it for DUO/Sawdust outreach.
